Last updated: April 21, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PDFScanAccess, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the service.

2. Description of Service

PDFScanAccess provides automated PDF accessibility scanning and pre-audit reports. Our tool detects potential accessibility issues, ranks them by severity, and generates downloadable reports to help you plan and budget for remediation.

Important limitations:

  • We do not provide manual accessibility remediation services.
  • We do not provide legal certification or WCAG 2.1 AA compliance guarantees.
  • Our scans are automated and may not detect every accessibility issue.
  • Results should be reviewed by a qualified accessibility professional before making compliance decisions.

3. Account Requirements

You do not need to create an account to use PDFScanAccess. Each scan generates a unique job ID and API key that you can use to access your results. You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential.

4. Payments and Pricing

PDFScanAccess operates on a pay-per-scan model. Prices are displayed on our pricing page before you purchase. All payments are processed securely through PayPal. We do not store your payment card details.

You must select a scan plan that accommodates your upload volume (page count and file count). If your upload exceeds your selected plan's limits, you will be prompted to select a higher tier or reduce your upload.

5. Refunds

Because our service delivers digital reports immediately upon scan completion, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds for completed scans. If you experience a technical error that prevents scan completion, contact us and we will investigate.

6. User Content

You retain all rights to the PDF files you upload. By uploading files, you grant us a limited license to process them solely for the purpose of providing the accessibility scan service.

You may only upload files that you have the legal right to scan. Do not upload files containing malware, illegal content, or material that violates third-party rights.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Uploaded PDF files are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers 24 hours after scanning. Scan results and reports may be retained longer to allow you to access your download link, but file contents are not retained beyond 24 hours.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and technology on PDFScanAccess are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the service without our written permission. Your scan reports are yours to use and share as you see fit.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to scan files you do not have permission to access.
  • Upload malicious files or viruses.
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, payment requirements, or security controls.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the service without authorization.
  • Resell, redistribute, or white-label the service without an Enterprise agreement.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT OUR SCANS WILL DETECT ALL ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES, ACHIEVE WCAG COMPLIANCE, OR SATISFY LEGAL REQUIREMENTS. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Automated scanning has inherent limitations and should be supplemented with manual review where required.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PDFSCANACCESS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific scan that gave rise to the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, all provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which PDFScanAccess operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us at [email protected].
